HR016EN - Whistleblower

AUP is committed to providing a work and learning environment defined by integrity and transparency that encourages the disclosure of violations of law or of University policy. To this end, AUP protects from retaliation against members of its community who report in good faith any suspected misconduct occurring at the University. This policy aims to reassure individuals that they should raise genuine concerns in good faith without fear of reprisals, and provides guidance on how to raise those concerns.

BP023EN - Non-Discrimination

The University promotes its educational goals and preserves the human rights of each of its members, notably by safeguarding freedom from discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity. These values are affirmed by French law and Article 10, which ban expressions that incite discrimination, that propagate the idea of a superior race, and that spread hatred against specific groups.

AA046EN - Course Equivalencies

AUP welcomes transfer students, and in order to facilitate their transition, processes transfer credit applicability and course equivalences according to this policy.

AA026EN - Graduate Thesis/Research Project

This purpose of this policy is to inform students, faculty, and staff of the administrative steps required to successfully register and complete the thesis component of any graduate degree. Additionally, in order to ensure fairness and consistency, this policy clearly defines the rules and restrictions concerning thesis supervisors and second readers, as well as all information concerning conflicts of interest.

AA021EN - Awarding of Advanced Standing Credit

This policy describes the rules that govern the awarding of advanced standing credit. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all AUP students are treated equally and that students are not required to repeat acceptable course work that has been completed prior to enrolling at AUP.

AA027EN - Leave of Absence

Students wishing to take a temporary leave of absence from The American University of Paris for any given reason (family or financial emergency, personal health, etc.) are required to adhere to AUP’s Leave of Absence procedure. Students are encouraged to discuss possible academic, personal and financial implications with their academic advisor, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and their financial aid counselor.

AA012EN - University Withdrawal

Students wishing to withdraw from all registered courses in any given semester are required to adhere to AUP’s University Withdrawal procedure. During this process, the student works with the Office of Student Development to identify the reasons for withdrawal, as well as possible academic, personal and financial implications. The Office of Student Development also assists with communication with relevant University Offices.

BP028EN - Privacy Policy for Students

This policy describes the ways AUP collects and uses your personal data while you are a student at AUP and how we maintain your personal data about your time as an active student after you complete your studies with us. This policy outlines how we address the responsibilities we hold in relation to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and related French and United States data protection laws, such as the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

AA045EN - Final Exams

In order to ensure academic success, fairness, and consistency, this policy alerts students to the fact that they are required to take all final exams with their class as scheduled with exceptions allowed for the two circumstances noted in the policy.
