Sweden Trip

In September, 2016 a group of MSIM students, in conjunction with the Net Impact group, organized a trip to the Triple Bottom Line Investment (TBLI) conference in Stockholm, Sweden. There, with Professor Robert Earhart’s guidance, students assisted with conference logistics, interviewed experts to develop a series of articles, which were posted on the conference website and with Environmental Social Governance (ESG)-oriented media outlets, and had the opportunity to meet with prospective employers.

The conference offered a program tailored for ESG and Impact Investors, with practical workshops that provided case studies and market analyses. There were also interactive master classes on opportunities, innovations, and risks in the sustainable and socially responsible investment space as well as high-level plenary sessions with seasoned ESG investors, entrepreneurs, and specialists in corporate social responsibility and socially responsible investment. Students also participated in an “entrepreneur pitching salon” that featured pre-qualified businesses who were seeking investment from ESG-focused investors.
