Undergraduate Students

In order to satisfy academic and scholarly information needs, the AUP Library offers interlibrary loan services to its constituents (i.e. upon request, the AUP Library will obtain material not already available in its collection) and to other institutions. This policy ensures that materials are fairly and consistently shared with library users worldwide.

The American University of Paris Library circulation policies regulate the lending of circulating and non-circulating library materials to all AUP constituencies. This policy details the loan periods, renewals, self-renewals, recalls, return of items, lost items, fines and fees, as well as the borrowing terms of circulation items, items on reserve, films, non-circulating items, etc.

The continuous evaluation of student learning is an integral part of the educational process at The American University of Paris as it is in all American universities. Students must demonstrate their knowledge and comprehension through a wide range of academic exercises and assessments, which may include written assignments, research, in-class essays, examinations or oral presentations. Faculty members perform assessments with professionalism, fairness, consistency, and objectivity.

Students who withdraw from courses are entitled to tuition refunds, depending on the time of withdrawal and the student’s enrollment status, per this policy.

This policy provides notice of compliance with The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of ARC-administered learning systems and survey tools, and copyright guidelines for Blackboard™.

The Internship Handbook comprises policies and procedures pertaining to student internships. Topics include: credits, registration fees, pre-requisites, internship assignments and grades, required conduct, extensions, duration and timing, capstone internships, termination, and prolongation.

The American University of Paris aims to empower students to become responsible actors and leaders in a globalized world. Students must therefore uphold the institution’s standards and integrity as an educational community by following the student Code of Conduct, described in this policy. This policy also details disciplinary and judicial procedures.

The American University of Paris aims to provide a student-centered, transformative learning experience to its students. The University thus grants to students the rights outlined in this policy, including the right to participate in student leadership. AUP is committed to providing excellent academic support services to its students. The primary purpose of the AUP Writing Lab is to guide students to become better writers in the university setting. The AUP Writing Lab engages and trains students as Writing Lab Tutors who provide individually tailored sessions to help their peers succeed. This policy outlines the role and responsibilities of undergraduate tutors.

Students are expected to meet all financial obligations to AUP. Students who do not make timely tuition and fee payments are subject to penalties, explained in this policy.
