Due to the international nature of the AUP student body, entering students are generally required to take placement tests in order to determine the most appropriate level for studying English, Mathematics and French. This policy describes the required placement tests and the circumstances under which students are required to take them.

FS001EN - Event Space Management & Room Booking

This policy describes how AUP manages requests to use classroom space for events, meetings, and student activities. As the demand for classroom space grows, it is important that the process for requesting space be rational and transparent to ensure efficiency and fairness. This policy prevents event overlap, encourages coordination of events across campus, and helps increase the success of such events.

AA013EN - Freedom of Expression

This policy articulates AUP’s guiding principle as an educational institution of defending free speech and condemning hate speech. As a private American institution located in France, AUP encourages, protects, and sustains the freedom of expression, offering the broadest possible latitude to both internal and external speakers within the limits of French and European law. Hate speech is antithetical to AUP’s core values and its prohibition extends to every corner of AUP’s campus, including online speech.

AA010EN - Transfer of Academic Credit

AUP welcomes transfer students, and in order to facilitate their transition, processes transfer of credit according to this policy.

AA009EN - Language Proficiency Requirements

Since English is the language of instruction at AUP, all candidates for admission must demonstrate English proficiency at a level that will ensure their ability to successfully complete university-level work. Scores from standard tests of English are required for candidates whose native language is not English.

AA008EN - Substitution or Waiver of Degree Requirements

Occasionally a degree requirement can be substituted or waived. Documentation showing equivalency of material is required.
