Students are expected to maintain a GPA that shows they are succeeding in their courses and making good progress towards graduation. At the end of every spring semester, all students’ GPAs are reviewed, and students not meeting cut-off levels are put on probation or dismissed.

A change of grade can remedy the accidental reporting of an incorrect grade.
AA005EN - Directed Studies
Directed Study allows the exceptional degree-seeking student to work in an area of special academic interest under the direct supervision of a faculty member.
AA004EN - Course Withdrawal
Students may withdraw from a course after the end of the drop/add period, but before the mid-semester deadline announced in the University calendar.
AA003EN - Course Overlap, Double Majors and Second Diploma
This policy explains how courses can be double-counted when a student elects to fulfill two majors, or between a major and a minor.
AA002EN - Auditing a Course
Students who wish to experience but not be evaluated on their performance in a course, may elect to audit the course. This gives them access to the course and all related course materials. However, no grade is recorded.
AA001EN - Attendance
Students studying at The American University of Paris are expected to attend all scheduled classes and are responsible for understanding specific attendance policies set by faculty members.
