IT001EN - Information Technology Resources Rights, Privileges, & Acceptable Use
AUP owns its information technology resources, including computing and telecommunications networks, computing equipment, and information resources (see Definitions). The university provides these resources to support the academic and administrative functions of the institution, and it expects the responsible use of the same. All users of the university's information technology resources are expected to demonstrate the highest respect for the rights of others in their use of these resources.
IT006EN - Information Technology and Data Governance
The purpose of this document is to provide the terms of reference and structure for information technology and data governance (hereafter “IT and Data Governance”) at the American University of Paris (AUP). This framework provides a common basis for working with institutional data as a mission-critical university resource. It describes the lifecycle of data and information and the systems, products, projects, processes, policies, and responsibilities that relate to that lifecycle.
IT005EN - Data Resources, Access, Classification, and Usage
Information is one of the university's most valuable assets, and its value is increased through widespread and appropriate use. The university grants access to the greatest extent possible while recognizing the responsibility to secure data appropriately. Consistent with the university's obligation to preserve and protect such information by all appropriate means, access to information is made available only where there exists a valid business purpose.
IT002EN - Information Security
Information is one of the university's most valuable assets, and its value is increased through widespread and appropriate use. The university grants access to the greatest extent possible while recognizing the responsibility to secure data appropriately. The university provides these resources to support the academic and administrative functions of the institution, and it expects the responsible use of the same.
IT004EN - Password Management
Passwords are an important aspect of computer security. They are the front line of protection for user accounts and ultimately for AUP’s computer systems. A poorly chosen password can compromise the security and integrity of AUP's network and result in unauthorized access to confidential data. The purpose of this policy is to establish a standard for the creation of strong passwords, the protection of those passwords, and the frequency of changing these passwords.
