The Counseling Program is designed to offer a wide variety of support and guidance to students on and off campus. Both on-campus and off-campus consultations are strictly confidential. This policy details circumstances that might require a breach of confidentiality, as well as the procedure for canceling a counseling session.

SS009EN - Involuntary Leave of Absence
The safety of individual students as well as the entire community is a priority at The American University of Paris. When a student engages in, or is at risk of engaging in, behavior that could lead to the serious injury of themselves or others, and when this student is unwilling or unable to accept University-recommended support to address this behavior, they may be placed on an involuntary leave of absence.
AA012EN - University Withdrawal
Students wishing to withdraw from all registered courses in any given semester are required to adhere to AUP’s University Withdrawal procedure. During this process, the student works with the Office of Student Development to identify the reasons for withdrawal, as well as possible academic, personal and financial implications. The Office of Student Development also assists with communication with relevant University Offices.

The American University of Paris aims to empower students to become responsible actors and leaders in a globalized world. Students must therefore uphold the institution’s standards and integrity as an educational community by following the student Code of Conduct, described in this policy. This policy also details disciplinary and judicial procedures.
SS007EN - Student Rights
The American University of Paris aims to provide a student-centered, transformative learning experience to its students. The University thus grants to students the rights outlined in this policy, including the right to participate in student leadership. SS006EN - Student Immigration
Students who wish to study and live in France must comply with French immigration laws. From the day they enter France and until they graduate from AUP, students must obtain and retain legal residency in the country. They must also keep updated residency records online with the Office of Student Immigration Services at all times. This policy outlines guidelines and procedures that help ensure compliance with French law so that students have the legal right to study in France.

SS004EN - Cultural Program
The American University of Paris’ Cultural Program Office collaborates closely with faculty to organize study trips that enhance the student learning experience. To streamline the planning process and to ensure clarity and consistency for participants, this policy describes the terms of enrollment, payment, cancellation, visa requirements, and financial aid for study trips and cultural excursions.
